As a professional organization SDSEA is pleased to recognize excellence in science education. Each year SDSEA honors outstanding elementary, middle school, and high school science teachers of the year. Other valuable contributions to science education, are recognized with awards for excellence in science education at the University level, and Community-based informal science education.

SDSEA also recognizes students and their teacher/advisors who participate in the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair and conduct good science investigations using simple materials.
